Oh, joy! It’s that time of the year again: the leaves are orange, the wind is whistling only very slightly, the air is a tad chilly, and we’ve got our cuppas ready.
Fall is one of my favorite seasons, and for good reason – it’s when we celebrate Halloween (candies, costumes, and scary stories, am I right?), feel the crisp beneath our boots, and show off thin scarves that are mostly useless come Winter.
Our agenda today isn’t fashion-related; although, it does involve fun redecorating, so worry not!
Get your planners ready, we’re about to switch some of your most beloved bedroom pieces to fall-approved ones.
Because Halloween is just around the corner, we’re ridding of the bright Spring colors and sticking to deep-toned hues: so, the purples, maroons, and grays, plus the occasional whites, golds, browns, and of course, oranges.
We’re going to start with one of the biggest attractions of the room, which is the bed. It’s ideal that your flat sheets and comforter be white, leaving all the work to your pillows and throw blanket, as it will add dimension and balance the darkness of everything else in the room.
Now, this is totally optional, but I’d re-position the bed to face away from the window just so all the light radiates through the headboard, and both the eeriness (a nod to Halloween) and coziness (a nod to Autumn) of the room stays intact.
Another ideal thing to do (that is not only good for Fall, but all year-round) is to put up fairy lights along with cut-outs of maple leaves and fall-inspired scented candles ready to freshen up the room any time. (This is literally Fall tradition, you can never go wrong with pumpkins and ciders!) However, if fairy lights are not an option for you, try out vegas lights in different forms.
This one spells out Home, and is a personal favorite just because it screams Autumn to me. It’s very pleasant and warm to look at, especially from your bedside nightstand. You can also check out Love, &, the Arrow, and a bunch more stuff best suited for you for cheaper alternatives.
If you’re looking to add a pop of color to the room though (because of course you decided to stick to the whites and grays), then this crazy substitute would fit your setup perfectly!
A little rearranging here and there, and viola! You are fall-approved and fall-ready. Share us a picture of your rooms and flats over at Twitter, we wanna see! (Don’t get too cocky though, not everyone has a fireplace in their apartments – including me!)
