Some HAIR over the rainbow. The hidden rainbow hair trend Is the sneakiest way to hide a statement dye job

At the turn of the millennium, chunky blonde streaks were a big deal, then more recently Ombré had its moment in the spotlight which was followed by a huge grey hair trend but right now its all about hidden rainbow hair.

A quirky Brick Lane based establishment, aptly named NOT ANOTHER SALON, recently unveiled a series of awesome photos on their Instagram account.

Sums up our day…..

In simple terms, an under section of the hair is first bleached, then painted an array of magical colours and voilà! The great thing about this style is its versatility; you can show your rainbow off to the world one day and keep it under wraps the next.

This is perfect for those of us in professions that don’t embrace that kind of thing… or maybe just for someone who enjoys surprising people?

You can tailor this look to suit your style, with both high intensity and pastel variations achievable. It’s also fairly low maintenance because you can keep your roots covered, HURRAH! And what better way to celebrate the LGBT community than having a rainbow in your hair?

The East London salon appear to have sent people into a frenzy, with the hashtag #hiddenrainbowhair starting to take off on social media.

Cool collective, The Confetti Crowd, who describe themselves on Instagram as “The UK’s Leading Girl Gang Of Creatives” have also gotten in on the act with this recent post…

Its fair to say that an appointment at NOT ANOTHER SALON salon doesn’t come cheap, with prices starting at £120 for this particular style. However, the team are colour experts and if you want the best, unfortunately, you have to pay for it.

You could always give it at go yourself if you’re feeling brave but such a complex mix of colours is probably best achieved by a professional, so bear this in mind before contemplating a DIY job!
